This encyclopedia is primarily about the American cable TV channel Cartoon Network, and its associated production studios, including Cartoon Network Studios, Williams Street, Warner Bros. Animation and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. This wiki covers articles about shows that aired on Cartoon Network, particularly those that are created for the network, along with others from the Adult Swim and Cartoonito programming blocks, and the sister channel Boomerang. Cartoon Network was originally launched in 1992 by its first CEO, Betty Cohen, and was originally made as a channel dedicated to broadcasting the animated library of Turner Entertainment Co. (consisting of MGM, Warner Bros. and Hanna-Barbera cartoons). It has since evolved to a hub for various original programming, with such iconic shows as Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, Ed, Edd n Eddy, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Codename: Kids Next Door, Samurai Jack, Teen Titans, Ben 10, Chowder, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, Regular Show, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, Craig of the Creek, and many more.
