Ed, Edd n Eddy is a Canadian-American animated slapstick comedy television series created by Danny Antonucci. It was produced by a.k.a Cartoon for Cartoon Network. It ran from 1999 to 2009, airing a total of 69 episodes that spanned six seasons. It also had three holiday specials and a television film, entitled Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show, which served as a finale to the show.
Set in a suburban cul-de-sac in the town of Peach Creek, the series revolves around three friends named Ed, Edd (or "Double D" to avoid confusion with other Ed) and Eddy—collectively known as the Eds. Under the unofficial leadership of Eddy, the trio come up with schemes to make money from their peers so they can buy their favorite confection, jawbreakers. Their plans usually fail, however, often in ways that leave them in crazy, often humiliating, predicaments.

Danny Antonoucci, despite having previous work on various children's series for Hanna-Barbera, built much of his solo career on animation aimed for an adult audience. He was an animator on the 1981 film Heavy Metal, and gained notoriety with the 1987 short film Lupo the Butcher. After founding a.k.a. Cartoon in 1994, he created the series The Brothers Grunt for MTV, though it was quickly cancelled following a poor reception.
On a dare, Antonucci decided that he would try producing a children's animated series of his own. While designing a commercial for Nike, he drew three characters that he felt particularly pleased with. He named them Ed, Edd, and Eddy and spent the following months developing a show around them.

Legacy
In 2019, the series is mentioned by Elder Barry in the Craig of the Creek episode "Kelsey the Elder," in which he compares Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. to the Eds but mixed with the kids from Codename: Kids Next Door.
In 2025, the Eds have non-speaking cameos in the Jellystone! series finale, "Crisis on Infinite Mirths," which is a crossover between characters created by Hanna-Barbera and Cartoon Network Studios. Eduardo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends makes himself the fourth Ed.
