Cartoon Network, or CN for short, is an American television channel that is run by The Cartoon Network, Inc. It first launched on October 1, 1992 on cable and satellite, with a lineup consisting of animated shows, mainly children's programming, and spanning different genres from action to comedy. It was founded by Betty Cohen, who was also appointed by Ted Turner as the first president of the network.

Its programming lineup initially consisted of libraries that acquired by Turner, including those of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Warner Bros., and Hanna-Barbera. However, the network expanded to original programming since its launch. It is also a host for two programming blocks: Adult Swim, which targets teenagers and young adults, and Cartoonito, which is aimed at preschool-aged children.
