Cartoon Cartoons is a collective name used by Cartoon Network for their original programming, produced by Hanna-Barbera and later Cartoon Network Studios, along with smaller studios like a.k.a. Cartoon, Kinofilm, Stretch Films, and Curious Pictures. It was used for various television series from July 14, 1997, to June 14, 2004. The first Cartoon Cartoon, Dexter's Laboratory, premiered in 1996, a year before the moniker's introduction. Not all CN original series created around this time were officially recognized as Cartoon Cartoons; for example, Samruai Jack did not bear the moniker.

It was retired by the network in 2004, and its last surviving series, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, ended in 2009 after ten-year run. Despite this, reruns of the Cartoon Cartoons continued to air on The Cartoon Cartoon Show and Cartoon Planet. In 2021, the Cartoon Cartoons name was used by the network for a new shorts program.

Legacy

In the OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes episode "Crossover Nexus", the Cartoon Cartoon logo is shown in the bottom of a wall inside the Cartoon Network headquarters. Later on, the Cartoon Cartoon jingle song is played when Ben Tennyson (from Ben 10) changes into various other Cartoon Network characters.

The Cartoon Cartoons brand was reintroduced as a YouTube channel featuring content from earlier CN shows since August 2024, replacing the former channel of the now-defunct Boomerang streaming service, which shut down on September 30.
